Business Idea: Get Your Web App Developed By Convicts
0 Comments Published by Louis Adekoya June 13th, 2007 in All Business Ideas, Blog, Social EntrepreneurshipWhile searching for cheap web app development resource it occurred to me that one could make a business of coaching prison inmates to write web applications while in prison and upon their release – real life applications paid for by bootstrapping entrepreneurs with no programming skills.
Snigger all you want at this idea but a really intelligent old schoolmate of mine who got mixed up with the wrong sort, spent his time in jail learning to be a Microsoft Networks Engineer and was good and lucky enough to get a decent paying job soon after his release. A business such as this would help the rehabilitation process as well, so you and your customers would actually be doing society a service.
I fully expect most people to be sceptical about something like this but I am interested in knowing if any of you bootstrappers out there would entrust your application to a team of inmates under the supervision and guidance of experienced, non-inmate and professional web designers and developers.
