I am avid reader of tech blogs and follower of most things Web 2.0 but I realised recently that I tend to ignore posts or news relating to the following:

  • Digg – just never got into it.
  • User Generated Video – I tend only to be interested in videos about startups and the occasional comedy clip sent to me by friends. I am however not a YouTube member or frequent visitor.
  • Photos – My wife is more of a photos person than I am. I don’t have a flickr account and really only ever take photos when we are on holiday. I did discover animoto recently and made a cool video from our holiday snaps.
  • IM Chat – I guess I’m old school because I prefer email to chat. Chat is just too disruptive for my liking. Basically I do not like the Instant in IM.
  • The iPhone - mainly because we don’t have it here in the U.K yet.
  • Virtual Worlds – I have never really been into gaming so it was always unlikely that second life and other virtual worlds would be of interest.

So what’s left of Web 2.0 you might ask – well I do belong to a few social networks (LinkedIn, Facebook, Hi5 and Cofoundr); I am into music recommendation sites and I do download quite a few podcasts. I also use Stumble Upon quite a lot. Not much in the grand scheme of things, so perhaps I not too much of a geek after all, fashionable as that might be these days.

I would like to hear what Web 2.0 stuff you are into – do share.

Update: Oh and how could I forget Twitter? It is definitely one of the Web2.0 things that I am not into.
